The webinar will explore the ways our commitments to antiracism and racial justice can translate into online writing center tutoring practice.

This webinar presentation will help attendees to use existing research to evaluate the benefits of asynchronous and synchronous tutoring; recognize what writing centers and learners can gain as tutoring goes online; and reflect on values needed to rethink online tutoring and approaches to tutor training.

In this webinar, participants will explore the ways our commitments to antiracism and racial justice can translate into online writing center praxis.

The goal of this presentation is to reframe the value of asynchronous writing center work and to demonstrate why it should be seen as an innovation rather than a disruption, a valid option for students, rather than a subpar alternative.

This webinar will engage the audience in a discussion of the story they want to tell administrators about their writing center, and how to work backwards to identify necessary data collection to help them tell that story effectively. We will encourage participants to consider the data they already collect for their writing center, what they need to collect to tell their story, how to set clear goals/outcomes for the writing center and how to align those with institutional goals and outcomes.
