DESCRIPTION:Webinars provide a space to share experiences\, ideas\, strategies\, and questions about online writing centers (OWCs). This webinar is a premium event. It will be free to OWCA members; members of the public interested in attending will be able to purchase a ticket. \nEvent Details\n\nPresenters: Dr. Khadeidra Billingsley and Dr. Sarah Huffman\nTitle:  “Writing Center Services Beyond the Tutorial”\nHosting Organization: Online Writing Centers Association\n\nWhile writing centers are often considered synonymous with one-on-one tutoring\, many centers offer additional services to support writers\, including mechanisms to spur students’ motivation to write. In this webinar\, Dr. Billingsley and Dr. Huffman will discuss innovative support structures for student writers that they have integrated into their respective writing centers. Attendees will reflect on what services they might implement in their own centers to support particular writer populations. \n\nASL Interpretation and Recording\nWe work with Morr Interpreting to provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters in each webinar. \nGuidelines for Participating\nWebinars are currently held in a Zoom Pro room. To ensure our interpreters are visible and can translate without auditory or visual distractions\, we ask that participants keep their audio and video turned off during the event. Participants are welcome to ask questions and contribute in the chat. \nRecording\nThis event will be recorded. \nRegister\nYou can register for a webinar through our direct scheduling link. After opening the scheduling site\, follow these steps: \n\nSelect your time zone from the drop-down menu\nClick the “Register” button next to the event you’d like to attend\nFill out the registration form and click “Complete Registration”\nSave your confirmation email to have the Zoom information or cancel your registration later.
